Biking in Hong Kong (2)
As promised on Monday, here's an update on the cycling in these parts.
As any of you geologists or geographers avidly reading this will already know, Hong Kong is an island with a big mountain in the middle of it, with some sea around it. And some more mountains, and some more islands and sea and so on.
A quick search of the internet turns up some websites of people from Hong Kong, on bicycles. For example, MTB United: and to save wear and tear on our cameras, they've stuck up some photos
For example, in row 8, a man riding down some steps.. And again in row 9, another man riding down some steps. And another.
Now, it's not like us to look down on people who ride down steps. For one glorious summer in 2002, we spent every weekend looking for the famous Steps of Death in Hayes (two steps next to the ice-cream van by the pond in Hayes Common, thanks to Drizzle and his navigation ability). But look - there's another one! And another! And another! And another!
5 different glorious sets of steps to ride down (and that assumes there's no staircases they didn't photograph during that ride. But there must be some other terrain out there, surely?
